Round 22 Tipsters' News, 2007

Congratulations to the twenty-three people who tipped all eight winners over the weekend. They win $52.17. Payment on Wednesday once the tribunal has given the all clear. Please provide me with your bank details.

According to the tipping ratio statistics there was one major upset: Adelaide (33.3%) beat Collingwood Friday night knocking out two thirds of the tipsters. Adelaide's win locked them into the 8th position on the ladder, turning some other games into "dead rubbers".

Meanwhile at the top of the Tipsters' Ladder Lachlan Gravier (Architecture) and John Galvin (external) remain tied in first position after both tiping 6 winners, now with aggregate scores of 119. But, they are now joined by Beverley Bencina (Biochemistry), who tipped a strong 7. So, we have three joint winners. A fantastic result. Congratulations.

Geoff Shields (LFR) tipped 6 and hung on for outright fourth place.

Ashley Sires (DPC) crashed out of contention leaving Daryl Hepburn (IS), in outright 5th position.

The average score for the round was a high 5.82 and the RAT tipped four and remains ahead of 10 people. Fifteen people (6%) didn't tip.

The tipping competition is over until next season. Thanks to all who played and helped throughout the season. Internet banking has certainly simplified money matters, though it is not perfect.

Here is the money:

Income: 241 tipsters at $25 each $6025 (244 less RAT, Test Account, one unknown non-payer)

Outgoing:

Weekly prize of $240 by 22 rounds gives $5280

Top 5 Prize Pool $745 divied up in the ratio 13:8:5:3:2 from 1st to 5th.

So John, Lachlan and Beverley get 1/3 of (13+8+5)/31 x 725 = $202.69 ea

Geoff Shields, 4th, wins 3/31 x 725 = $70.16

Daryl Hepburn, 5th, wins 2/31 x 725 = $46.77

Balance zero

These are interim values - rounding monies to be added and "Red Book" to be checked before final email is sent.

May your team (or second team) go well in the finals.
