Welcome to Round 2, 2009. We have about 218 paid up tippers, according to the April 5 MUCU internet bank statement. There were 230 players last year and I expect a few more late recruits. This brings the weekly payout up to $264. It is never too late to join ...
232 people tipped, 218 paid. Please note that if you haven't paid, you can't win the weekly prize.
Congratulations to Marian Ross (ext) who tipped all eight winners over the weekend winning $264 (may rise as a few more tipsters pay up - Dianna Gu will get another $12). Please supply your bank details to faciltate payment - on Wednesday, once the tribunal has given the all clear.
According to the tipping ratio statistics there were three major upsets: St Kilda (24.9%) defeated Adelaide in Adelaide, putting the cat amonst the tipping pigeons. Then the Swans (16.4%) defeated the reigning premiers Hawthorn - who we later learn are missing 8 premiership players. And the last game of the weekend saw West Coast (39.6%) defeat Port Adelaide.
Meanwhile at the top of the Tipsters' Table we now have joint aggregate leaders, Trevor Lee (Property and Campus Services) and Lindsay May (external) sitting on 14 points (7,7). Then there are 20 people a point behind on 13.
The average score for the round was 5.10 and The RAT (Random Tipper) tipped five.
Note: Easter this weekend, so tips close at 7 pm Thursday.
Tip now to avoid disappointment. You can tip
for the whole season - and then change your tips weekly - to be sure.
Good luck,
Ben Warden
