Congratulations to Sue Renn (Records) who tipped all eight winners over the weekend. She wins $780, payable on Wednesday, once the tribunal gives the all clear.
Next week the prize pool reverts back to $260. Of course, this is the last week of tipping.
According to the tipping ratio statistics there were 3 major upsets over the weekend: Friday night saw the Western Bulldogs (41.3%) defeat Geelong in a fantastic game, the lead changing 4 times in the last quarter. Western Bulldogs now cemented in the top four.
The second major upset saw St Kilda lose a second game, this time to North Melbourne (6.1%). The only team with any sort of form runing into the finals is Collingwood and to a lesser extent, Carlton. Hmm!
The final upset of the round was the Dockers (32.9%) smashed Essendon, making for a mouth watering finish to the home and away season with Essendon playing Hawthorn, the winner making the eight, the loser out! And Carlton would much prefer to play Hawthorn, having lost to Essendon twice already ths year.
Meanwhile at the top of the Tipsters' Table Peter Hawting (external) maintains a slender one point advantage over Jane Bentley, back to form with a strong 6. Peter, after tipping 5, has an aggregate score of 123. Chris Bowden and Jane Bentley are on 122. A further point behind and in the money are the Monash lads, David and Eddie Ross, equal 4/5th. Another 4 tipsters are a point behind and just out of the money.
The average score for the round was 5.43, up 0.91 on last week. The RAT (Random Tipper) tipped 6 and 22 people (9%) didn't tip.
This is the last round of the competition. Good luck to our leaders.
Tips close at 7 pm Friday. Tip now to avoid disappointment.
Good luck,
Ben Warden
