Round 5 Tipsters' News, 2009

Congratulations to Rob Sturrock (Information Technology Services, Systems) who tipped all eight winners over the weekend. He wins $540, payable on Wednesday, once the tribunal checks out the video and signals the all clear.

Next week the prize pool returns to $270.

According to the tipping ratio statistics there were four major upsets (again): On ANZAC day (Saturday), Essendon (20.5%) kicked 3 goals in the last 5 minutes to snatch victory from Collingwood, 14 points up at the 25.5 minute mark of the last quarter. Malthouse said his players didn't live up to the ANZAC spirit. The lead changed 10 times over the course of the game. A brilliant spectacle in front of 85,000 people. Hill out for the season with an ACL. Lloyd still didn't kicked his 900th goal.

The second upset saw winless Richmond (15.3%) defeat North Melbourne. Wallace lives another week. Similarly, bottom dweller Fremantle Dockers (22.3%) defeated Sydney in WA. Finally Carlton (30.6%) defeated Footscray.

Meanwhile at the top of the Tipsters' Table Rob Sturrock has cattapaulted into outright first position with RAT's six last week backing up with a stupendous 8 this week. He sits on an aggregate of 32, three ahead of equal 2nd to 6th place holders: Guido Ernst (Babel), Peter Hawting (external), Greg Massey (Zone 3 Building Supervisor), Vicki Mimis (Union) and Marian Ross (Monash).

The average score for the round was a dismal 4.20 and The RAT (Random Tipper) tipped 4. Six people (2%) didn't tip.

Tips close at 7 pm Friday.

Tip now to avoid disappointment. You can tip for the whole season - and then change your tips weekly - to be sure.

Good luck,

Ben Warden
