Round 8 Tipsters' News, 2009

Congratulations/commiserations to the 47 people who tipped all eight winners over the weekend. Alas, with a minimum payout of $20, they only win bragging rights while the prize jackpots to $810 next week.

According to the tipping ratio statistics there was one minor upset: Hawthorn (47.9%) defeated Fremantle.

Highlights included Tredrea's 7 goals and incredible saving pack mark to stave off Richmond in a thrilling game. Acka (Footscray) was best on ground in his 299th game and thoughts of retiring are receding fast. Buddy kicked a 70 metre goal, well held to 7 kicks and 4 goals.

Meanwhile at the top of the Tipsters' Table Rob Sturrock maintains outright first position after tipping a solid 7 this week, maintaining a two point lead over Peter McGrath (Internal Audit) and Marian Ross (Monash University). Rob now has an aggregate score of 50, Peter and Marian 48.

Equal fourth-sixth are:

  • Jane Bentley (2)(Fin Ops)
  • Peter Hawting (external)
  • Ken Powell (external)

The average score for the round was a very high 6.44 and The RAT (Random Tipper) tipped 3. Sixteen people (6%) didn't tip.

Tips close at 7 pm Friday.

Tip now to avoid disappointment. You can tip for the whole season - and then change your tips weekly - to be sure.

    Good luck,

    Ben Warden
