Lake Eildon Region

Lake Eildon is a large reservoir fed by the Goulbourn River and tributaries. Controlled releases into the downstream Goulburn River provide the irrigation needs for much of central and northern Victoria.

Eildon (the town) is a popular holidaying destination surrounded by forested mountains. Fishing, bushwalking, water-skiing, camping and swimming are regular pastimes for visitors to Eildon. Due to the mountainous surrounds, the Eildon region offers some excellent motorcycling roads that must be experienced.
