Yarra Ranges

The Yarra River is one of the main rivers flowing through Melbourne. It has large catchment areas to the east and north east of greater Melbourne. This catchment area, known as the Yarra Ranges, is a low-lying mountain range that is one of the closest parts of the Great Dividing Range to Melbourne.

This area is mostly thick forests with wineries tucked into the sides of hills where fresh streams flow and provide clean water. It is also home to some of Melbourne's closest and best motorcycling roads.
